20
FAUCET Score

CVE-2017-6648 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) of Cisco TelePresence Codec (TC) and Collaboration Endpoint (CE) Software, affecting versions prior to TC 7.3.8 and CE 8.3.0. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this by flooding the device with SIP INVITE packets, causing it to reload unexpectedly due to a lack of flow-control mechanisms. This vulnerability has a CVSS v3.0 score of 7.5 (HIGH), indicating a network-based attack with low complexity and a high impact on availability, potentially leading to a complete DoS. There is no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
