CVE-2017-4984

34
FAUCET Score

CVE-2017-4984 describes a critical command injection vulnerability in EMC VNX1 and VNX2 storage systems (prior to OE for File 7.1.80.8 and 8.1.9.211 respectively). An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this flaw to elevate privileges to root and execute arbitrary code on the VNX Control Station. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While no public exploit code or active exploitation has been observed, and community discussion is minimal, the potential for remote code execution makes this a significant risk.
