CVE-2017-4961 is a critical vulnerability affecting Cloud Foundry Foundation BOSH Release versions prior to 261.3 and all 260.x versions. It allows an authenticated Director user to escalate privileges on the Director VM through a malicious checksum, essentially a "BOSH Director Shell Injection." With a CVSS score of 8.8 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, nor are there publicly available exploit modules in Metasploit or ExploitDB, and it has received minimal community discussion or media coverage.
