CVE-2017-3199

22
FAUCET Score

CVE-2017-3199 is a deserialization vulnerability affecting the Java implementation of GraniteDS version 3.1.1.GA. It arises from the AMF3 deserializers using java.io.Externalizable instead of flash.utils.IExternalizable, allowing a remote attacker to send malicious serialized Java objects. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 8.1) has a high potential for arbitrary code execution, requiring a high attack complexity where the attacker can spoof or control an RMI server connection. While no public exploit code or active exploitation has been observed, and community discussion is minimal, the inherent risk of deserialization flaws remains significant.
