CVE-2017-17551 is an arbitrary file write vulnerability affecting the Backup and Restore feature in Mobotap Dolphin Browser for Android version 12.0.2. An attacker can craft a malicious backup file that, when restored, overwrites an executable within the browser's data directory. This allows for high-impact code execution (CVSS 8.8 HIGH), as the malicious executable runs every time the browser launches. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
