CVE-2017-16691 describes a vulnerability in the SAP Note Assistant tool (SAP BASIS versions 7.00-7.02, 7.10-7.11, 7.30-7.31, 7.40, 7.50-7.52) that allows for the extraction of tampered files from digitally signed SAR archives. Although the digital signature verification fails, a malicious file appended to the archive using SAPCAR can still be extracted, leading to potential integrity compromise. With a CVSS score of 6.5 (Medium), this vulnerability requires user interaction (UI:R) and could result in high impact to integrity (I:H). There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
