CVE-2017-16136 is a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) vulnerability affecting the method-override module used by the Express.js framework. This flaw allows an attacker to trigger a denial of service by sending specially crafted input in the X-HTTP-Method-Override header. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to a complete loss of availability for the affected system. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
