CVE-2017-14339 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the DNS packet parser of YADIFA versions prior to 2.2.6. An attacker can exploit this by crafting a malicious DNS packet containing an infinite pointer loop, causing the server to enter an infinite loop, leading to high CPU usage and unresponsiveness. This vulnerability has a CVSS score of 7.5 (High) due to its network-based attack vector and high impact on availability.
