CVE-2017-14127 describes a critical command injection vulnerability in the ping module of the web interface on Technicolor TD5336 OI_Fw_v7 devices. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands as root by injecting shell metacharacters into the pingAddr parameter of the mnt_ping.cgi script. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this vulnerability poses a severe risk due to its network-based attack vector, low complexity, and complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, nor are public exploit modules or significant community discussion available.
