CVE-2017-14100 is a critical command injection vulnerability affecting Asterisk 11.x, 13.x, 14.x, and Certified Asterisk 11.x and 13.x versions. The app_minivm module's "externnotify" program configuration, used by the MinivmNotify dialplan application, insecurely processes caller-ID name and number information. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to inject and execute arbitrary shell commands by crafting malicious caller-ID data. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical), this vulnerability has a network attack vector, low attack complexity, and can lead to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its high severity and EPSS score, there is currently no public exploit intelligence, Metasploit modules, or significant community discussion or media coverage, suggesting it is not widely exploited in the wild.
