CVE-2017-12836 describes a critical vulnerability in CVS 1.12.x that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. This occurs when CVS is configured for SSH remote repositories and processes a specially crafted hostname in a repository URL. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), exploitation requires user interaction and high attack complexity, but can lead to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
