CVE-2017-12627 is a critical null pointer dereference vulnerability affecting Apache Xerces-C XML Parser library versions prior to 3.2.1. This flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to remotely trigger a denial of service, and potentially achieve full compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, due to the processing of external DTD paths. Despite its critical CVSS score of 9.8, there is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
