CVE-2016-6466 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in the IPsec component of StarOS for Cisco ASR 5000 Series routers and Cisco Virtualized Packet Core. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this flaw to terminate all active IPsec VPN tunnels and prevent new ones from establishing. With a CVSS v3 score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to a complete loss of availability. There is no known public exploit code, Metasploit modules, or evidence of active exploitation, and it has received minimal community discussion or media coverage.
