CVE-2016-2363 describes a local privilege escalation vulnerability affecting Fonality (formerly trixbox Pro) versions 12.6 through 14.1i prior to June 1, 2016. The flaw stems from weak permissions on the /var/www/rpc/surun script, allowing local users with access to the 'nobody' account to gain root privileges and execute arbitrary commands. With a CVSS v3 score of 7.8 (High), this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and no user interaction required, leading to high impacts on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
