CVE-2016-2164 describes a critical vulnerability in Apache OpenMeetings versions prior to 3.1.1, where the FileService.importFileByInternalUserId and FileService.importFile SOAP API methods improperly handle URL protocols. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary files on the server by manipulating file upload attempts. With a CVSS v3 score of 7.5 (High), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to a complete compromise of confidentiality.
