33
FAUCET Score

CVE-2016-20049 identifies a critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in JAD 1.5.8e-1kali1 and prior versions. This flaw allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by supplying oversized input strings exceeding 8150 bytes, which overflows the stack and overwrites return addresses. Rated 9.8 CRITICAL (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N), it represents a low-complexity, unauthenticated remote attack vector capable of achieving complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While highly severe, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, nor are public exploit modules available in Metasploit, Nuclei, or ExploitDB, with only minimal community discussion observed.
