CVE-2016-1363

31
FAUCET Score

CVE-2016-1363 describes a critical buffer overflow vulnerability in the redirection functionality of Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Software versions 7.2 through 7.4 (before 7.4.140.0(MD)) and 7.5 through 8.0 (before 8.0.115.0(ED)). This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected devices by sending a specially crafted HTTP request. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction required, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While not listed in CISA's KEV catalog, there is no public exploit code available in Metasploit or ExploitDB, and community discussion and media coverage are minimal, suggesting it is not widely exploited in the wild.
