CVE-2016-10536

19
FAUCET Score

CVE-2016-10536 affects engine.io-client versions 1.6.8 and earlier, a component of Socket.IO, due to improper handling of the rejectUnauthorized setting in Node.js. The vulnerability arises when the rejectUnauthorized property is passed as null, inadvertently disabling critical certificate verification. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 5.9) allows an unauthenticated attacker to achieve high confidentiality impact with high attack complexity, as it bypasses SSL/TLS certificate validation. There is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
