CVE-2016-10149 describes an XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability in PySAML2 versions 4.4.0 and earlier, impacting Debian Linux and PySAML2 projects. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary files on the system by submitting a specially crafted SAML XML request or response. With a CVSS v3 score of 7.5 (High), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to high confidentiality impact. Despite its severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
