20
FAUCET Score

CVE-2015-7529 describes a local privilege escalation and information disclosure vulnerability in the sosreport utility, affecting SoS 3.x in products from Canonical, Red Hat, and the sos_project. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 7.8) allows a local attacker to exploit a symlink attack on temporary archive files, such as sosreport-$hostname-$date.tar in /tmp, to gain privileges or access sensitive data. Despite its severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
