CVE-2015-5516 describes a memory leak vulnerability in the last hop kernel module affecting various F5 BIG-IP products, including LTM, GTM, Link Controller, AAM, AFM, PEM, Analytics, APM, ASM, Edge Gateway, WebAccelerator, WOM, PSM, Enterprise Manager, and BIG-IQ solutions across multiple versions. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service by sending a large volume of crafted UDP packets, leading to excessive memory consumption. With a CVSS v3 score of 7.5 (HIGH), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network without requiring user interaction or elevated privileges, resulting in high availability impact.
