CVE-2015-1878 describes a critical vulnerability in Thales nShield Connect hardware models 500, 1500, 6000, and their '+' variants before firmware version 11.72. This flaw allows a physically proximate attacker to exploit a USB port on the front panel. The attacker can sign arbitrary data with existing keys, extract the device identification key (KNETI), impersonate the device on a network, and compromise the integrity and confidentiality of newly created keys, leading to a CVSS score of 6.8 (Medium).
