18
FAUCET Score

CVE-2014-7300 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in GNOME Shell versions 3.14.x before 3.14.1, affecting various Red Hat Enterprise Linux products. This flaw allows a physically proximate attacker to bypass the screen lock and execute arbitrary commands on an unattended workstation. By repeatedly requesting screenshots, the attacker can trigger the Linux kernel's Out-Of-Memory (OOM) killer, leading to a temporary screen lock outage and shell access. With a CVSS score of 7.2, this vulnerability is considered high severity due to its local attack vector, low complexity, and complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
