CVE-2013-0277 is a critical vulnerability affecting ActiveRecord in Ruby on Rails versions prior to 2.3.17 and 3.x before 3.1.0. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service or execute arbitrary code by supplying specially crafted serialized attributes that force the +serialize+ helper to deserialize arbitrary YAML. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no authentication, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
