CVE-2012-1854 is an untrusted search path vulnerability in VBE6.dll affecting Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, and 2010, as well as Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and its SDK. This vulnerability allows local users to gain privileges by placing a malicious DLL in the current working directory, such as one containing a .docx file. With a CVSS score of 6.9, it has a local attack vector, medium attack complexity, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The vulnerability was exploited in the wild in July 2012, but there is no public exploit code available, and it has received minimal community discussion or media coverage.
