CVE-2011-2924 describes a local privilege escalation vulnerability in foomatic-rip filter versions 4.0.12 and prior. When debug mode is enabled, the filter insecurely creates temporary PostScript data files, allowing a local attacker to conduct symlink attacks and overwrite arbitrary files with the privileges of the user running foomatic-rip. Rated Medium severity (CVSS 5.5), this vulnerability requires local access and low privileges, but has a high impact on integrity (data modification).
