CVE-2011-2921

88
FAUCET Score

CVE-2011-2921 describes a critical privilege escalation vulnerability in ktsuss versions 1.4 and earlier. The software, designed to execute commands with root privileges, fails to properly drop these privileges before executing user-specified commands. This flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary command execution with root privileges, as reflected by its CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL) and FAUCET Risk Score of 99/100. While not listed on CISA's KEV catalog, a Metasploit module and an ExploitDB entry confirm the existence of public exploit code. Despite the high severity and readily available exploits, there is no evidence of active exploitation, nor significant community discussion or media coverage.
