CVE-2011-1734

CVE-2011-1734 describes a critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the Backup Client Service (OmniInet.exe) of HP OpenView Storage Data Protector versions 6.00, 6.10, and 6.11. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected systems by sending a specially crafted omniiaputil message. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability presents a severe risk due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its high severity and EPSS score, there is no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
