CVE-2011-1730

CVE-2011-1730 describes a critical stack-based buffer overflow in the Backup Client Service (OmniInet.exe) of HP OpenView Storage Data Protector versions 6.00, 6.10, and 6.11. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code with maximum privileges by sending a specially crafted EXEC_SCRIPT message. With a CVSS score of 10.0, it represents a severe risk due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its high severity and EPSS score, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
