CVE-2010-0189 describes a critical vulnerability in the NOS Microsystems getPlus Download Manager (also used by Adobe Download Manager) version 1.5.2.35. This flaw, residing in an ActiveX control, improperly validates requests from websites not within expected subdomains. Attackers can exploit this to force the download and installation of arbitrary programs on a user's system. With a CVSS score of 9.3, this vulnerability is highly severe, allowing for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability with low attack complexity and no authentication required.
