21
FAUCET Score

CVE-2009-2474 describes a critical vulnerability in neon versions prior to 0.28.6, affecting products like Apple, Canonical, Fedora, and WebDAV, where the software fails to correctly process null characters in the Common Name field of X.509 certificates when using OpenSSL or GnuTLS. This flaw enables man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof legitimate SSL servers using specially crafted certificates issued by trusted Certificate Authorities. With a CVSS score of 5.8, this vulnerability has a network attack vector and medium attack complexity, potentially leading to partial compromise of confidentiality and integrity.
