CVE-2009-1385 describes an integer underflow vulnerability in the e1000 and e1000e network drivers within the Linux kernel and Intel Wired Ethernet before version 7.5.5. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service (system panic) by sending a specially crafted network frame with an unusual size.
