CVE-2009-1099 describes an integer signedness error in Java SE Development Kit (JDK) and Java Runtime Environment (JRE) versions 5.0 Update 17 and earlier, and 6 Update 12 and earlier. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to access files or execute arbitrary code by crafting malicious Type1 font glyph descriptions, which bypasses a signed comparison and triggers a buffer overflow. With a CVSS score of 7.5, this vulnerability is considered highly severe, requiring no authentication and having low attack complexity, potentially leading to partial compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
