CVE-2009-1083

23
FAUCET Score

CVE-2009-1083 describes a critical vulnerability in Sun Java System Identity Manager (IdM) versions 7.0 through 8.0 across multiple operating systems. The flaw allows authenticated remote attackers to embed "control characters" in user passwords, which can then be leveraged through "resource adapters" to execute arbitrary commands. With a CVSS score of 9.0 (Critical), this vulnerability presents a high risk due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
