CVE-2009-0238 is a critical remote code execution vulnerability affecting multiple versions of Microsoft Office Excel, Excel Viewer, and the Compatibility Pack. It allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by crafting malicious Excel documents that cause an invalid object access. With a CVSS score of 9.3, this vulnerability is highly severe, requiring no authentication and having complete confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts. This flaw was actively exploited in the wild in February 2009 by Trojan.Mdropper.AC, although no public exploit code or significant community discussion is currently evident.
