CVE-2008-4256 describes a memory corruption vulnerability in the Charts ActiveX control present in several Microsoft development environments, including Visual Basic 6.0 and Visual Studio .NET. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by enticing a user to open a specially crafted HTML document, due to improper error handling when accessing uninitialized objects.
