CVE-2008-3014 describes a critical buffer overflow vulnerability in the GDI+ component (gdiplus.dll) affecting numerous Microsoft products, including Internet Explorer, Windows, Office suites, and SQL Server. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by enticing a user to open a specially crafted WMF image file, which triggers improper memory allocation. With a CVSS score of 9.3, this vulnerability is highly severe, requiring no authentication and having a medium attack complexity, but leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
