CVE-2008-1676 describes a vulnerability in Red Hat PKI Common Framework (rhpki-common) within Red Hat Certificate System and Netscape Certificate Management System versions 6.x and 7.1-7.3. The flaw allows remote attackers to bypass Certificate Authority profile constraints on Extensions when processing Certificate Signing Requests (CSRs). This could lead to man-in-the-middle attacks by enabling the issuance of certificates that violate intended restrictions.
