18
FAUCET Score

CVE-2008-1146 describes a weakness in a pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) algorithm, "Algorithm X3," used in OpenBSD versions 2.8 through 4.2, as well as other affected products including Apple, FreeBSD, and NetBSD. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to predict sensitive values, such as DNS transaction IDs, by observing previous outputs. The CVSS score of 6.8 (Medium) indicates a network-based attack with medium complexity and potential for partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts, notably enabling DNS cache poisoning.
