CVE-2008-1117 describes a critical directory traversal vulnerability in the Notes feature of Timbuktu Pro 8.6.5 for Windows and potentially 8.7 for Mac OS X. This flaw allows remote attackers to upload files to arbitrary locations on a vulnerable system by manipulating destination filenames with specific path traversal sequences. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability is extremely severe, enabling unauthenticated attackers to achieve complete compromise, including code execution by writing to Startup folders. While not on the KEV catalog or actively exploited, public exploit modules exist for Metasploit and ExploitDB, indicating readily available tools for exploitation.
