18
FAUCET Score

CVE-2007-6536 describes a spoofing vulnerability in Google Toolbar 4 and 5 beta, where the Custom Button Installer dialog fails to properly verify domain names displayed in "Downloaded from" and "Privacy considerations" sections. This allows remote attackers to trick users into installing malicious button XML files by presenting a trusted domain, such as www.google.com, even when the file originates from an arbitrary site via an open redirector. With a CVSS score of 6.8 (medium severity), successful exploitation could lead to partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts, requiring medium attack complexity and no authentication. There is no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
