CVE-2007-4361

25
FAUCET Score

CVE-2007-4361 describes a critical vulnerability in NETGEAR ReadyNAS RAIDiator firmware versions prior to 4.00b2-p2-T1 beta, where a predictable default SSH root password, derived from the hardware serial number, is generated. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to easily guess the password and gain complete control over the device. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability presents a severe risk due to its network-based attack vector, low complexity, and potential for full compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion, the inherent ease of exploitation makes it a persistent threat if unpatched.
