CVE-2007-2974 describes a critical buffer overflow vulnerability in the file parsing engine of Avira Antivir Antivirus versions prior to 7.03.00.09, affecting Avira Antivir and Avira AV-Pack products. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable system by tricking the antivirus into scanning a specially crafted LZH archive file. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability is highly severe, requiring no authentication or complex attack vectors, and can lead to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
