CVE-2007-2500

26
FAUCET Score

CVE-2007-2500 describes a critical vulnerability in GNU Gnash (aka GNU Flash Player) version 0.7.2, where remote attackers can execute arbitrary code. This is achieved by supplying a large number of SHOWFRAME elements within a DEFINESPRITE element, leading to memory corruption, likely a buffer overflow, and allowing the attacker to call 'free' with an arbitrary address. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability is highly severe, requiring no authentication and having a low attack complexity, potentially leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its high severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
