CVE-2007-2461 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the DHCP relay agent of Cisco ASA and PIX appliances running version 7.2. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this by sending specific DHCP messages, causing the relay agent to receive multiple DHCPACKs from multiple servers, leading to memory exhaustion and dropped packets. With a CVSS score of 7.8 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, resulting in a complete loss of availability.
