CVE-2007-2293

40
FAUCET Score

CVE-2007-2293 describes multiple stack-based buffer overflows in the Asterisk SIP channel T.38 SDP parser (chan_sip.c) prior to version 1.4.3. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by sending a crafted SIP message containing overly long T38FaxRateManagement or T38FaxUdpEC SDP parameters. With a CVSS score of 7.6, this vulnerability is considered highly severe due to its network-based attack vector, high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, despite requiring high attack complexity. While not on the KEV catalog, proof-of-concept exploit code is publicly available on ExploitDB, though there is minimal community discussion or media coverage surrounding this older CVE.
