CVE-2006-5861 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the Independent Management Architecture (IMA) service (ImaSrv.exe) within Citrix MetaFrame XP (versions 1.0 and 2.0) and Presentation Server (versions 3.0 and 4.0). Remote attackers can exploit this flaw by sending a specially crafted packet, leading the service to attempt access to an unmapped memory address, triggering an unhandled exception and causing the service to exit. This vulnerability has a CVSS score of 5.0 (medium severity), indicating a network-based attack with low complexity and no authentication required, resulting in partial availability impact. There is currently no known public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB) and no evidence of active exploitation, with minimal community discussion or media coverage.
