CVE-2006-5780 describes a critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in nfsd.exe within XLink Omni-NFS Server 5.2. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by sending a specially crafted TCP packet to port 2049. With a CVSS score of 7.5, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While not currently on CISA's KEV catalog or showing active community discussion, multiple public exploit modules exist, including in Metasploit and ExploitDB, indicating readily available tools for exploitation.
