29
FAUCET Score

CVE-2006-0684 describes a critical vulnerability in Virtual Hosting Control System (VHCS) versions 2.4.7.1 and earlier, where the change_password.php script fails to verify the old password during a password change. This flaw allows remote attackers to gain unauthorized access by simply providing a new password without authentication. With a CVSS score of 7.5, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to full compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While not listed in CISA KEV or Hot List, and with no Metasploit or Nuclei modules, an ExploitDB entry (EDB-27204) confirms the existence of public exploit code. Despite its age and the availability of exploit code, there is minimal community discussion or media coverage surrounding this CVE.
