21
FAUCET Score

CVE-2005-2931 is a format string vulnerability affecting the SMTP service in Ipswitch IMail Server 8.20 and Ipswitch Collaboration Suite (ICS) before 2.02. This flaw allows remote unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code by injecting format string specifiers into EXPN, MAIL, MAIL FROM, or RCPT TO commands. With a CVSS score of 7.5, it represents a high-severity risk due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and potential for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its age and severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
